Ichiro Lambe of Dejobaan Games will be giving a talk this week in Worcester about his critically acclaimed game that shipped in September 2009. This talk is part of Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s weekly IMGD Speaker Series.

In creating our 13th title as a studio, we’ve figured out some of what makes a remarkable game. If you don’t come to this talk, I can sum it up in one sentence: Experiment with everything! There. 50 minutes of your life saved. If you do come to this talk, I’ll discuss the 5 things we did to create an indie title that’s made its way into websites, magazines, and newspapers everywhere, from how we created (what I think is) an interesting concept, to how we made good decisions during the design process, to where we made our biggest mistakes.

Ichiro (WPI Ph, ’98) is Founder and President of Dejobaan Games, LLC, a Boston-area indie game development studio. He has worked in the industry since 1993, co-founding Worlds Apart Productions (now Sony Online Entertainment Denver) in 1995 and Dejobaan Games (still Dejobaan Games) in 1999. Since Dejobaan’s founding, he’s led development on the studio’s 13 titles, working on titles for PDA and desktop PCs. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, but takes game development very seriously.
