We wanted to draw your attention to GP for Child’s Play (GP4CP), an event being run in Cambridge on Saturday, December 19th. For those who aren’t aware, Child’s Play is Penny Arcade’s non-profit organization that helps gamers give the gift of toys and games to sick children at over 60 hospitals worldwide.

The website for GP4CP, including information about time and location for the event, is here:

You, or your company, can donate money to Child’s Play through that website, or email info@gp4cp.org for more information. You can also attend the raffle and game tournament on the 19th. There’s also a donation widget on the left-hand side of this blog.

A $5 donation at the website enters you into an online raffle for some cool gamer stuff. A $10 donation gets you entry into the Dec 19th event, although you can also pay at the door. Tickets for the raffle are $1 and can be bought at the event.

GP4CP is looking for donations of gaming-related items (games, consoles, figurines, posters, etc) that will become prizes in the raffle that they will be running at the Dec 19th event. Donations are tax deductible and the organizers can provide you with the tax ID number for Child’s Play on request.

You can also always donate money to Child’s Play directly, but these local charity drives are a nice way to say that the Boston area gaming community donated X amount of money. If you know any locations (College campuses, shops, cafes) that would post flyers for the event, let the organizers know and they can provide them (info@gp4cp.org).

Please note: the organizers of the Boston Post Mortem are not involved with running this event. We’re just helping promote it! Any questions you might have should be directed to info@gp4cp.org.
