This month’s Boston Post Mortem is next week, WEDNESDAY, September 12th at 7pm at The Skellig in Waltham.

Our presentation this month will be by Jamie Gotch of Subatomic Studios, who will provide a detailed look at the development process and evolution of their recently released game, Fieldrunners 2:

Using lessons learnt from its predecessor, the team at Subatomic builds upon the principles that made the original so great, while simultaneously expanding them in new ways.  The end result is a highly-addictive game that retains the simplicity of the original while adding enough depth to appeal to both hard-core and casual gamers alike.

This talk delves into specific examples and lessons learnt from the game’s development, as it covers the problems encountered and the many iterations undertaken to build one of the most ambitious sequels to its 2008 massive-hit.  Attendees will see never-before-seen gameplay pre-visualization videos, hear about features that did not make it into the final game and learn why, and get an inside look at how a mobile game like Fieldrunners 2 gets made.
