May Meeting – DB Cooper – Directing Dialogue and Performing Exertion Sounds

This month’s Boston Post Mortem is THIS WEEK, WEDNESDAY, May 15th at 7pm at The Skellig in Waltham.

Our presentation this month will be by D.B. Cooper, who will be giving two audio talks, one on directing dialogue and another on performing exertion sounds:

The Slick Tricks for Dialogue Directing:
We will examine the 8 means of emphasis, and some novel approaches to the “set of 3” line reads.

The 15 minute Fight Club:
In this interactive session, attendees will learn how to take bullets, howl in agony, and die.

DB Cooper: Voice Actor/Dialogue Consultant/Voice Caster/Director. With a pedigree in musical and dramatic theater, DB has been acting and directing for more than 28 years. Her work includes voice characterizations for player characters in Bioshock 2, Syndicate, Firefall, and most recently Firehose Games’ GO HOME DINOSAURS. DB was dialogue and character voice consultant for 38 Studio’s Copernicus project, and she cast, directed, and helped facilitate the language application & recordings for Zynga’s “The Ville”. She’s been a speaker at the Game Developers Conferences in Austin and San Francisco since 2006.
