The MassDigi Game Challenge and Games for Change Awards are two upcoming events that you might want to check out!

MassDigi Game Challenge:

The MassDiGI Game Challenge is a one-of-a-kind competition and event that helps aspiring game developers launch new games. The MassDiGI Game Challenge will be held on March 7-8, 2014 at theMicrosoft NERD Center in Cambridge, MA; featuring industry mentors, panel discussions, keynote talks and great prizes – you won’t want to miss this!

Deadline: Feb 12th. Find details here.

Games for Change Awards:

Games for Change, an NYC-based nonprofit promoting and facilitating the development of social impact games, will be hosting its 11th Anniversary Games for Change Festival (April 22-24; gamesforchange.org/festival2014), this year as a part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

I’m reaching out to see if any of your chapter members have created games around real-world issues that have been released or will be released between April 1, 2013, and April 1, 2014? If so, I strongly encourage them to submit to Games for Change’s annual awards ceremony, the Games for Change Awards. You can find the criteria and submission form here: http://bit.ly/G4C14Awards.

At the Festival, we host the Games for Change Awards to highlight the most impactful, innovative, and engaging games. Among last year’s Awards nominees, two of the developers had games published on Steam (Filament Games, the studio behind Reach for the Sun; and Lucas Pope, creator of Republia Times, Papers Please).

The deadline for submissions is coming up fast — February 5 at 11:59 PM EST
