Harmonix, the studio that created the blockbuster franchises Rock Band and Dance Central, is looking for a NOC Engineer to contribute to our web and online gameplay services. As a member of our LiveOps team, you would help ensure that gamers around the world can jam & dance any time of the day with the lowest latency possible.

At Harmonix, you’ll learn new skills and gain invaluable knowledge that will help prepare you to move into more senior IT roles in systems administration, networking, security, or other areas.

Responsibilities:

• Day to day systems management, administration, and monitoring.
• Install and configure new software and hardware.
• Setup, manage and troubleshoot monitoring and alerting systems.

• Participate in our on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or 2+ years of experience in system administration.
• Knowledge of computer networking and TCP/IP
• Ability to diagnose networking failures
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.

• Strong problem solving skills: innovation, collaboration, analysis, inductive reasoning.

Candidates with knowledge and/or experience in these areas will rise to the top…

• LAMP stack server administration
• Server virtualization technologies
• Load balancing concepts and solutions.
• Monitoring/alerting systems (e.g. Nagios, Icinga, etc.)

• MySQL or Postgres database management/administration
