full time Quality Assurance Manager

at Disruptor Beam in Framingham, MA

Disruptor Beam is building a new generation of games for every screen, based on popular universes like Game of Thrones and Star Trek. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company, alongside a veteran team, working with some of the most iconic brands in entertainment.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager who is passionate about building the best games in the world. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring the QA team as well as evaluate tools and technologies to improve our QA practices.

This position is located in Framingham, MA.


--Hire, train, schedule, mentor and coach QA personnel
--Wield the power to prevent the release of new versions that do not meet quality standards; coordinate builds and releases with the product teams
--Evaluate and configure software and tools for the purpose of improving all of our quality processes, integrating our information systems, and automating testing
--Supervise operation of the “QA Lab,” ensuring that servers, test devices and other equipment are sufficient for effective testing
--Monitor other sources of data such as performance metrics and business dashboards to proactively identify patterns that suggest quality problems requiring investigation
--Triage reported issues
--Configure Jira to streamline and capture the most relevant data from QA
--Investigate and research serious quality issues
--Brief customer service, community and product teams on key issues
--Establish mechanisms for gathering intelligence and documenting issues from various sources including game reviews, customer service, community teams and other Disruptor Beam staff


--Background in a management role within the Quality Assurance operation of a software company
--Experience implementing a wide range of testing methodologies including regression testing, coverage analysis, compatibility testing, performance measurement, unit testing, playtesting, test-driven development, behavior-driven development
--First-hand experience working within an Agile software development environment
--Exceptional analytical and research skills, with a genuine talent for breaking software
--Comfortable with testing and evaluating new tools and technologies
--Outstanding written and oral communication skills
--Highly effective at coaching, mentoring, training
--Knowledge about a wide variety of mobile games and their history of quality issues, gained through experience enjoying them as a player
--Plus: deep familiarity with configuring and customizing Jira
--Big plus: experience with UI-based test automation tools
--Very big plus: QA management experience in an agile, mobile-first games company
