full time Head of People Ops

at Disruptor Beam in Framingham, MA

Disruptor Beam is building a new generation of games for every screen, based on popular universes like Game of Thrones and Star Trek. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company, alongside a veteran team, working with some of the most iconic brands in entertainment.

We are seeking an experienced Head of People Ops who is passionate about growing a startup company in the highly-competitive $100 billion+ gaming market. This is a leadership position reporting to the CEO tasked with human resources, but without the traditional constraints of HR or the focus on regulatory compliance and benefits administration (the latter responsibilities are supported by our finance team). As the first full-time human-resources executive in the company, you will be tasked with leading recruiting efforts, culture development, training and performance management. It is important that you are detail oriented, are a good communicator, possess extraordinary people skills, and are eager to work in a fast-paced start-up with significant responsibility and accountability.

This is an on-site position at Disruptor Beam's offices in Framingham, MA. We are open to relocating the right person.


--Outbound recruiting efforts: source candidates for key positions by reaching out to potential candidates through Internet research, resume databases, social networking and real-world networking
--Inbound recruiting efforts: write and place ads for openings, maintain careers and corporate landing pages, and supervise Applicant Tracking System (ATS) implementation
--Establish repeatable, quantifiable and scalable processes around recruiting
--Support our "Culture of Disruption" through investments in materials, onboarding systems, events and other programs
--Consult with the CEO and members of the leadership team to identify crucial gaps in bandwidth or skills which may be addressed through training and/or recruiting.
--Advise and train members of the team on how to write effective, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
--Create quantifiable systems for measuring performance of functions within the company
--Supervise investments in skills training, professional development, and leadership development programs
--Supervise the company's internship program
--Lead diversity efforts

Minimum Requirements:

--5+ years of experience as an in-house recruiter or an HR leadership function with substantial recruiting responsibility
--Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
--Ability to understand the skills and talents needed, and communicate effectively about, a wide range of highly-technical fields including engineering, game design and product management
--Passionate about mass-market consumer entertainment such as Game of Thrones and Star Trek
--Alignment with our "Culture of Disruption"
--Experience with implementing training and leadership development programs

Big Pluses:

--Experience in a company going from early-stage startup to growth-mode startup
--Background in a game company
--First-hand experience in a company successfully utilizing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
