part time Rigging Instructor for Fall 2016

at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA

Mount Ida College in Newton, MA is currently seeking an instructor for Intro to Rigging in Fall 2016. The class is set for 6:00 - 8:45 Monday/Wednesday evenings, and will run from September 7 to Mid-December. Topics covered include creating skeletons, skinning & weight painting, contrains, IK vs FK, setting up controls, parenting, blend shapes, etc. A key component to this course is also helping students understand how Rigging factors into the greater production pipeline. Analysis of broader 3D concepts (good topology & edge flow, economy in polycount, proper file naming conventions, etc) would also be covered.

Additional requirements:
- A minimum Bachelor's-level degree is required for all adjunct instructors.
- Professional experience to share with our students.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Maya.
- Prior college-level teaching experience a major plus.
