full time Quality Assurance Lead - Platform

Description
We are seeking a strong technical Quality Assurance Lead to be a hands-on leader, providing direction and mentoring of a team of greybox and whitebox testers for 38 Studios’ platform services. This person will be responsible for the testing of back-end infrastructure systems, authentication, e-commerce, and customer service tools. The candidate should be self-motivated and always looking to improve their own skills and the skills of their team members.

Position Responsibilities

Manage multiple simultaneous projects.
Author and maintain test plans and test cases.
Lead, motivate and direct a group of individuals to deliver high quality products.
Communicate current progress on assignments to immediate supervisor.
Perform peer review on defect reports and completed test cases.
Provide mentorship for new testers through direct interaction, as an assigned partner, and by example.
Conduct training as requested.
Investigate defects and determine root causes.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements

Knowledge

Proven experience in resource planning, test strategies, execution and reporting.
Strong understanding of enterprise applications, database, messaging solutions and e-commerce systems.
Experience in load, performance and stress testing.
Experience with system and networking monitoring tools.
Ability to understand application API level testing.
Technology experience:
Java
TCP, UDP, HTTP
SNMP
Web security
Linux
Python
Selenium
Competencies

Strong technical and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization and efficient time management skills are required.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to write understandable, reproducible defect reports.
Ability to work effectively on large teams in a deadline-driven environment.
Experience

Minimum 5 years testing experience is required.
2 years experience in a leadership role managing multiple projects.
Game industry experience is a plus.
Experience with Scrum methodology.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
