Production Department Manager
at Harmonix in Cambridge, MA
Harmonix is seeking an experienced senior/executive producer with an interest in mentoring and overseeing our talented staff of producers. This position focuses on the development and growth of the production department at Harmonix. The production department manager will work closely with the director of production to manage the day to day needs of the department with a specific focus on production skills development, personnel career growth, and maintaining the culture of the department.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and motivate production staff including team training, mentoring, and a focus on career growth.
· Hire and train new production staff.
· Maintain 1-on-1 weekly meetings with the production team.
· Write reviews and administer the employee review process for all producers, recommending promotions, etc.
· Work with other department managers and directors to ensure open and effective cross-department communication.
· Evaluate effectiveness of pipelines and methodologies and make recommendations for improvement.
· Assist as needed with the project management of various support teams and initiatives.
Desired Qualifications:
· Strong desire to mentor and grow a dedicated and talented team of producers.
· Minimum of 3 years as a Senior Producer or Executive Producer in game development managing a production team.
· Minimum of 3 years managing multiple direct reports.
· Shipped a minimum of 5 online, console or PC titles from pre-production through gold master.
· Experience with scrum and agile methodologies.
· Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication.
