JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Game Usability Associate role is being offered on a full-time basis to the right candidate. You will work in our Concord, MA studio and report to our Director of Marketing. Job duties include gathering data from multiple, conducting surveys, and facilitating focus groups, playtests, and game usability sessions.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Director of Marketing in developing overall game usability program for the studio.
• Support research efforts to drive development of successful online games.
• Manage testing lab, monitoring and maintain lab hardware and software.
• Assist in building networks of focus group participants.
• Support live observation of play testing.
• Assist Director of Marketing in presenting research findings to senior management..
• Interface with game development team to ensure the user experience reflects customer needs and achieves desired product impact.
• Gather data from multiple sources to help deliver business insight and strategic guidance to game product and executive leadership teams.
• participate in early-stage community bulling and community management efforts
Requirements:
• 1 to 3 years experience in game playtesting or related industry research.
• Ability to effectively communicate and influence via research results and presentations of their relevance to business.
• Ability to integrate data from quantitative and qualitative approaches
• Ability to communicate complex results to less quantitatively sophisticated users.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree.
Pluses:
• Experience as games blogger or community manager
• Experience with user experience and user motivations, survey and focus group methodology
• Experience in A/B testing, play-testing, benchmark studies, lab studies and remote testing.
• Experience in or knowledge of game development.
• Avid video game player, ideally free-to-play and online social games.
