The Game Engineer is an individual contributor developing new features for Turbine’s MMORPG, Dungeons & Dragons Online®: Eberron Unlimited™. The candidate should possess strong communication skills and be able to discuss technical issues with non-technical people such as artists and designers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews feature documentation generated by game designers and provides feedback.
• Assists in backlog item estimation and technical design from feature documentation.
• Implements approved features to technical specifications.
• Documents systems thoroughly for engineers and other developers.
• Assists in the creation of test plans by working closely with Quality Assurance.
• Fixes bugs to improve the user experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• BA or BS in Computer Science.
• C++
• STL
• Technical design methodologies.
• 1+ years of experience in software development.
• Dedicated gamer with MMO experience.
• Developed one or more products through ship.
• Experience developing under source control.
• Experience using bug tracking software.
• Development experience on a live product.
• Experience developing UI for games.
• Experience developing tools to create game content and systems.
• Experience developing in a client/server architecture.
• Experience with Agile software development methods.
• C# experience.
• SQL, Lua, Perl and Python are a plus.
